CAGT to Host VJGT events this Spring

The Virginias' Junior Golf Tour (VJGT) will begin play this spring, hosting six events in Virginia and West Virginia under the direction of Bruce Stouffer. The VJGT will play 2-day, 36-hole nationally-ranked events. Bruce also runs the First Citizens Junior Golf Tour serving the Central Virginia region. The First Citizens Junior Golf Tour plays ten one-day events throughout the summer.
The VJGT events are regional tournaments that are designed to draw serious junior golfers from throughout Virginia and West Virginia. VJGT will be affiliated with the Capital Area Golf Tour (CAGT) and people can join the VJGT Tour, or register for this spring's events, through www.cagt.org

Stouffer said "I am excited to be working with CAGT to expand the golf offerings for juniors in the Virginias. The idea of bringing quality, nationally-ranked junior golf events to this part of the state is something to which I, and the CAGT, are committed."
Tom Lizardo of CAGT said, "I am very pleased that we are able to team with Bruce in this way to expand playing opportunities for young golfers."
One membership will cover players to play in either CAGT or VJGT events, and some of the top VJGT players will earn an invitation to the CAGT's tour championship to be played at Old South Country Club in Lothian, Maryland on June 28, 29, and 30. The CAGT tour finals will be ranked by Golfweek Magazine.

(6) June 19 – 20 Pete Dye River Course (Radford, VA)
