ABOUT THE CAPITAL AREA GOLF TOUR About the Capital Area Golf Tour

The Capital Area Golf Tour (CAGT) is a Fall/Spring junior golf tour with events planned in the Washington, DC suburbs. The tour plans as many as six events each in Maryland and Northern Virginia, to be scheduled between Labor Day and Thanksgiving 2009, and an equal number of events are tentatively planned for between mid-March and Memorial Day of 2010.

Each tournament will be planned as a two-day event, to be ranked by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard (NJGS). Boys and girls compete in 4 age divisions, under age 10, 10-12 years of age, ages 13-15 and players 16-18. A player’s age as of September 1st determines what age group he or she will play in for both the fall and spring seasons. Players may elect to play-up, but once they do they cannot return to their former age group. Players may not play down an age group.

The tour plans to have an invitation-only season-ending championship in June of 2010, for the 2009-2010 season. Players will qualify for the tour championship by gaining points awarded as a result of top finishes in regular-season open events.

General membership fees are $125 per season. In addition, when a member of a high school junior golf team plays his or her first tournament with our tour, the CAGT will donate $25 to his or her high school team. Tournaments are only open to tour members, and a separate fee will be charged to compete in each tournament for which a member registers.

The Capital Area Golf Tour is hosted by The Lizardo Group, incorporated of Fairfax, Virginia.
